Religious Modifier
Veni Creator Christian University (VCCU) is an educational institution, duly registered with the Florida Department of Education in the USA. For this reason, we must add a religious modifier to our Certificates and Diplomas to comply with FLDOE regulations as described in Section 1005.06(1)(f) of the Florida Statutes. An example of a religious modifier is “Doctrine”, which means: a specific principle, position, or policy taught or defended, such as religion, system/environment, or government.

The number 12 represents divine order, perfection, and governing authority in Scripture. VCCU was founded and operates based on these 12 fundamental pillars that guide all aspects of our institution:

TITLE IX POLICY & SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION
VCCU's COMMITMENT:
Veni Creator Christian University is committed to providing and maintaining an educational environment that is free from sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and discrimination based on sex. VCCU prohibits all forms of sexual misconduct and strictly enforces measures to prevent, investigate, and remedy sexual harassment and misconduct.
DEFINITION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Sexual harassment includes unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature, including unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature, when:
Submission to or rejection of such conduct is made, either explicitly or implicitly, a term or condition of education
Submission to or rejection of such conduct is used as a basis for academic decisions
Such conduct has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with educational performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational environment
PROHIBITED CONDUCT
VCCU prohibits the following:
Sexual assault
Sexual harassment
Dating violence
Domestic violence
Stalking
Retaliation against complainants or witnesses
Any discrimination based on sex

VCCU provides confidential support resources for students affected by sexual misconduct. Reports will be handled with discretion and respect for all parties involved.
INVESTIGATION & RESOLUTION
VCCU will promptly investigate all complaints and take appropriate action to resolve matters. The process includes:
Prompt investigation
Opportunity for both parties to present evidence
Fair and impartial review
Appropriate remedial measures
Notification of outcome to complainant (to extent permitted by law)
SANCTIONS
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including suspension or expulsion, as well as referral to law enforcement.

The Title IX Coordinator is your point of contact for reporting concerns, asking questions about the policy, requesting supportive measures, or initiating a formal grievance process.
CONDUCT PROHIBITED BY THIS POLICY
Quid pro quo sexual harassment — conditioning educational benefits on submission to unwelcome sexual conduct.
2. Hostile environment sexual harassment — unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that is severe, pervasive, or objectively offensive.
3. Sexual assault, including rape and fondling, as defined under federal law.
4. Dating violence and domestic violence.
5. Stalking on the basis of sex.

CONFIDENTIALITY
VCCU will make every reasonable effort to protect the privacy of all parties involved in a Title IX matter, consistent with the institution's obligation to provide a safe educational environment and to comply with applicable law. Reports made in good faith will be reviewed promptly and discreetly.
SUPPORTIVE MEASURES
Upon receipt of a report, VCCU will offer supportive measures — irrespective of whether the reporting party files a formal complaint. Supportive measures may include:
Changes to course assignments or section placement
Extensions of academic deadlines
No-contact orders
Referrals to confidential counseling resources
Other reasonable accommodations to preserve equal educational access
GRIEVANCE PROCESS
Formal Title IX complaints are processed under VCCU's Title IX Grievance Procedure, which provides:
Written notice of allegations to all parties.
2. An impartial investigation conducted by trained personnel.
3. The opportunity for both parties to submit evidence and written statements.
4. A written determination of responsibility and any sanctions.
5. An appeal process available to both parties.

NON-RETALIATION
VCCU strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who, in good faith, reports a potential violation of policy, participates in an investigation or grievance proceeding, exercises their legal rights, or opposes conduct they reasonably believe violates law or policy. Reports of retaliation should be made immediately to the Dean of Students.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA gives parents and students over 18 years old ("eligible students") certain rights with respect to the student's education records.
STUDENT RIGHTS UNDER FERPA
1. RIGHT TO ACCESS: You have the right to inspect and review your education records within 45 days of a request. Submit requests in writing to the Registrar's Office.
2. RIGHT TO REQUEST AMENDMENTS: If you believe your records contain inaccurate or misleading information, you may request amendment of the record. If VCCU does not amend the record as you request, you have the right to a hearing to present evidence that the record is inaccurate or misleading.
3. RIGHT TO PRIVACY: VCCU will not disclose your education records without your prior written consent, except in limited circumstances specified by FERPA, including:
- Directory information (with opt-out option)
- School officials with legitimate educational interest
- Authorized representatives of state and federal education agencies
- Court orders or subpoenas
- Emergencies that threaten student safety
4. RIGHT TO FILE A COMPLAINT: If you believe VCCU has violated your FERPA rights, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education, Family Policy Compliance Office.

Annual FERPA Notification & Student Rights
Veni Creator Christian University maintains student education records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. §1232g and 34 C.F.R. Part 99. This notice is provided annually to all currently enrolled VCCU students.
Your FERPA Rights at VCCU
Eligible students (those who have reached 18 years of age or who attend a postsecondary institution) have four core rights under FERPA:
1. Right to inspect and review. You may inspect and review your education records within 45 days of submitting a written request to the Registrar.
2. Right to request amendment. If you believe a record is inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of your privacy rights, you may request that VCCU amend the record. If VCCU declines, you have the right to a hearing.
3. Right to consent to disclosure. Generally, VCCU will not disclose personally identifiable information from your education records without your written consent, except as permitted by FERPA.
4. Right to file a complaint. You may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education's Family Policy Compliance Office concerning alleged failures by VCCU to comply with FERPA.

Directory Information
VCCU may disclose the following directory information without your consent unless you opt out: name, dates of attendance, enrollment status (full-time/part-time), degrees and awards received, major field of study, participation in officially recognized activities, and the most recent previous institution attended.
To opt out of directory disclosures, submit a written request to the Registrar within 30 days of the start of each academic term.

Academic records — transcripts, grade reports, degree audits, course enrollment history.
Admissions records — application, supporting documents, admissions decision.
Financial records — tuition accounts, payment history, financial agreements.
Conduct records — disciplinary files and appeals outcomes.
Advising records — academic plans and faculty communications.
Health/disability records — accommodation documentation, kept separately and securely.
Data Security & Breach Notification
VCCU implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect student records. In the event of a security incident affecting personally identifiable information, VCCU will provide affected individuals with notification describing what occurred, the categories of information involved, the steps taken to remediate the breach, and guidance for affected individuals.
